Oliver’s first birthday party was Mickey Mouse-themed and it was so much fun to plan. So I decided to piggy back on this theme for a cute and fun cake smash session! And since we really haven’t given him any sugar I decided to make a healthy(ish) cake for the occassion. I waited until the end of the party to do the cake smashing since I knew it would be messy. And I used his cute birthday outfit but I removed the onesie! Read along for the recipes and pictures of this fun cake smashing session!

Of course, the green carpet didn’t stand a chance against the frosting!
And Oliver’s cousin joined in on the fun and partook in the smashing (and eating)!
Then dad decided to join along for a taste of the fun!
The party ended when Oliver walked over to me and rubbed all that frosting on my jeans!
4 ripe bananas (mashed)
1.5 cups flour
1.5 cups apple sauce
.5 cup peanut butter
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 cup coconut milk
.5 cup cream cheese
1 cup greek yogurt
2 tsp honey
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tbsp peanut butter
Set oven at 350 degrees. Mix the wet ingredients and then add the dry ingredients. Pour even amounts into two 9-inch round pans. Bake for 20-25 minutes. Let cool. Once cool, layer cake with frosting in between each layer and cover the entire cake. I chose to add blueberries on top since those are Oliver’s favorite but decorate however you like!
Although it was messy, it was so fun. And since we did the cake smashing at the end of his birthday party, a lot of our guests were able to witness the cuteness! And I must say that the cake was a success!
